Spring Break 2025

We don't normally take a spring break trip because it's a busy time of year for my businesses, but this year I felt like getting away for a few days! The work would still be there waiting for me when I got back. We decided to make a Dallas Stars/Vancouver Canucks game the main focus of the trip, and then build the itinerary around that. I found glass seats at an affordable price, so that helped seal the deal. We flew into Seattle and immediately drove to Vancouver. We got in late because our flight from Dallas was delayed, so we didn't get to explore the city until the next day. Our first stop was the Vancouver Aquarium. The kids really liked it, and Meezy and I had a good time there as well.

We grabbed lunch after and then relaxed at our hotel for a couple hours because we knew there was an exciting night ahead for us! We had picked a hotel within walking distance to Rogers Arena to make it easier. We got to the arena early and Jude took a pic with the Canucks' mascot, with our mascot in his mouth, of course. The view from our seats was incredible, but the quality of the arena and the lack of any food or drink being included with our tickets was a bummer. I guess I'm spoiled by the VIP experience that the Dallas Stars gives you when you have glass seats! We won the game though, so overall we came out on top.

The next day we drove to Grouse Mountain to spend some time outdoors. We decided to go sledding and we were literally the only people at that attraction. It was awesome! It was like a private winter playground for just our family.

We tried to go ice skating outdoors, but there was too much snow coming down! So, we headed inside for food and hot chocolate. After that, we started our drive back to Seattle to finish out the trip. We ended up choosing a hotel in Tacoma called Silver Cloud at Point Ruston. OMG, this was a good choice! The hotel has a suite called "Water View Family Suite" and it was exactly what I wanted when traveling with our kids! There were two distinct bedrooms with their own TVs, a living area, a wet bar and fridge, and a huge bathroom separating the bedrooms.

Besides the great room setup, the hotel also had awesome views and a really good location near restaurants, a movie theater, and shops. We never had a problem finding a place to eat and also got some good photo ops just behind the hotel.

We drove into Seattle to visit the Museum of Pop Culture and felt like it was a good experience for the whole family. We also let the kids play at the nearby playground.

We had to get back to Dallas for school and work, so it wasn't a long trip, but I'm so glad we got to spend this time together!
